sleep hacks

Sleeping is important, however it's not always easy to do for alot of us. Here are my top 10 favourite sleep hacks that I've found:

1.Listen to a soothing CD or put on some white noise.

2. Go grounding. Grounding is where, before you go to sleep you go outside in nature, maybe just into your backyard and you walk in circles on the lawn.

3. Put lavender oil on your pillow. If you get a pure one, the natural properties of the oil will soothe the body, release the days stress and help you get to sleep.

4. Rub magnesium cream into your hands and/or feet or other pressure points. It naturally soothes you and helps put you to sleep/

5. Think of random unrelated things, your brain will realise that it has nothing to do now, and it will start to calm down.

6. Get into your sleeping breathing pattern. Breathe in for 4 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds and release for 8 seconds. Repeat this four times as this is the breathing pattern you fall into when you sleep.

7. Stay on one side for 15 minutes without moving (preferably not on your back as sleep paralysis is more likely to occur if you do it on your back, unlikely but possible.) this shows your brain that we can sleep now since we arent doing anything.

8. Just do something like counting sheep, or the alphabet game, something that doesnt require much thinking.

9. Stretch/ yoga poses. The legs up the wall yoga pose is especially good as it helps soothe the blood circulation, calming the body.

10. This one my brother showed to me, and it really works. You just balance a water bottle or glass between your eyebrows. I dont know why it works, but it does. I think that concentrating on one thing could be it.

Thanks for reading! See you next week:) Hope this helped you if you don't sleep well either. Comment, like and subscribe!

About Me

Hi Random Stranger,

It’s Emily here, on your computer, typing out my heart because that’s what I want to do.

I’m eleven years old and live in Australia. In the April of 2016 my two older brothers, parents and I packed up and went to live in Manchester, England for sixteen spontaneous and exciting months.

I created this blog to share my passions for reading, writing, health, cooking, music and lifestyle. It’s all going to be a little mixed up and random but that’s what we all are as we grow up, so maybe this way we’ll be able to understand each other better as we learn together in this crazy world with our equally crazy families… Enjoy!

Keep updated!
